My new nano 3rd gen does not transfer the play count to itunes so itunes does not auto delete.
Is there something/option i need to turn on to transfer my play count to my itunes. I don't know if this applies to your situation, but my Shuffle occassionaly loses its ability to update the play count.
In some cases new firmware cannot support a backup file of the older firmware.
If this is the case, you will need to reconfigure the router manually.

My old nano justed to update i Tunes with the play count and would auto delete the podcast.

I tried using winamp 5.5 to see if the problem is simply with i Tunes, but to my amazement, the exact same thing occurs. I've tried it on several other windows boxes, with the same results.
Similar problem here with nano (1.0.2) and i Tunes 7.5.
It's always cured by restoring the i Pod and creating a brand new playlist (not copying the old one which is probably corrupt).
I have the same problem with my second 3gen i Pod Nano 4GB. it won´t sync the info to i Tunes when I connect the i Pod to my computer.
